2007 January: Studio 7 SDK launched

The new Studio 7 SDK is launched today!

Studio 7 SDK LogoStudio 7 SDK – New features

This product has been modernized and our development team has had as their main focus to improve ease-of use. You can look forward to the following features:

  • New modernized object model
  • Easy to use on multiple programming platforms, like Visual Basic .NET, Visual C#, C++, VB Scripts, ASP .NET, etc
  • Enhanced functionality: access to variable definitions, access to analysis and dataset variable values, multi-runs, reference data, etc.
  • New Visual Basic .NET example
  • Works with Windows Vista
  • And a lot more…

In Studio 7 SDK there is a completely new object model giving you access to the rich functionality of the Studio Simulation Engine. The object model is a set of COM (Component Object Model) interfaces, specially designed for ease-of-use and language-independence. In a variety of development environments, like Visual Basic .NET, Visual C++, Visual C#, ASP. NET, and scripts, you can build tailored simulator interfaces in an intuitive and straight-forward way.

For compatibility reasons, the previous low-level COM interfaces (IPsEngineFactory, IPsModel, and IPsSim) and the Powersim Engine ActiveX control are still supported. We strongly recommend to use the new and rich Simulation Engine Object Model, however.

The new Object Model consists of 14 objects and collections. The change with respect to the old COM interfaces is not only about modernization; the functionality itself has also been extended. All components and simulations of a simulation project are now readily available. You also get access to the actual definition of variables (given that you have the proper access rights). There is functionality for controlling reference runs, and getting access to reference data. You can access the values of analysis variables and dataset variables, in addition to model variables. And a lot more...

Support and Upgrade Agreement subscribers will receive release information by e-mail and the new version on CD at no extra costs.
